Since I am an ultralight weight kind of person and do more ultralight style flyfishing in skinny water small creeks I dont need or want a big net, but with a leg injury I am also unable to squat down safely with typical short smaller nets....so with my handle modification this net is exactly what I need.. I had a carbon fiber tube that I converted into a 26inch handle for this net. The simple handle mount design easily allows you to replace the handle if you want...most other nets have larger hoop then i need and smaller nets dont offer much of a reasonable way to create an extended handle, and the big one for me also was I wanted ultralight weight..with my extended length handle I have it at 9.1oz right now. The original handle put it at just over 6oz, so I got extra length for 3oz more weight..the other purpose for this net was airtravel, so I can fold it to fit in carry on and not worry about damaging or bending like a rigid hoop net...I liked the nirvana net design better then the Packnet since it has the rubber covering the metal strip of the hoop and its the sleeker handle style for less bulk...I never really planed to fold up the net but the folding design helps prevents hoop damage that may occure with rigid hoops..for ultralight fishing the shallow net is nice also since I dont need a 10inch deep net for 4inch fish...so for the quality and design of this net I am more then happy with it,especially for the price and ease with which I added the new ultralight handle...in this hoop size, and shallow net depth, usually bait nets are the only option, so it is nice that this it is a good quality, true landing net at a great price.
